גָּבוֹהַּ

גָּבוֹהַּm. (b. h.; preced. ws.), constr. גְּבַהּ 1) high, exalted, elevated Sot.5a among men ג׳ רואה את הַגָּ׳וכ׳ a high persou looks up to a higher one, but ignores the lower one. Gen. R. s. 22 (ref. to Ps. 32:1) happy is he שהוא ג׳ מפשעווכ׳ who is higher than (who controls) his sin, and whose sin is not higher than himself; a. fr.Snh.5b (in Chald. diction) אבוה … גְּבַהּ עינים הוה this mans (my) father was ambitious.Fem. גְּבוֹהָה.
